1. Weak Story
Characters who don't have goals are dull and confusing. Character motivation needs to be clear. 2. Under Cooked Scripts When all the ideas don't tie up and not make sense or are irrelevant towards the story. Every detail has to have a meaning and a purpose to the story 3. Bad Sound Having bad sound is frustrating and doesn't carry the story, the audience doesn't tolerate bad sound. Clean sound helps compose the scene and evaluate the moment. 4. Poor Casting Choices Having age difference between the actor and the character makes it less convincing and intriguing. Casting the right actors help the audience interact and believe the story as it is more convincing. 5. Poor Shot Composition Dead space where there's wasted space which is useless and it should be occupied which enriches the scene and helps se the moment. Having Symmetry in your scene make sit pleasing and easy to see. Shots without depth come across as a unprofessional and boring so composing the location of your actors makes the scene rich and full. 6. White Walls Having a white wall makes it so much deader and it makes the audience bored and not focused on the action of the scene. 7. Poor Lighting If people can't see what's happening they lose interest. Having nice lighting make it look expensive and professionally made. 8. Unnecessary Insert Shots When you cover the same scene from a different angle. It's not important to the scene it doesn't give any important information, and just confuses the audience. They stop paying attention to the movie. 9. Lingering When you see people doing unnecessary motions of movement that isn't necessary to the scene and just makes it longer and dilutes the concentration of the scene. 10. Too Many Pregnant Pauses Pauses have to have a meaning and adding too many of them would slow down the scene and make it unbearably boring. In fact the fewer pauses you take the more significant they become. 11. No Blocking (Movement) Characters sitting and standing around makes it seem stale and unnatural, movement helps to tell the story, if the actors move it helps keep the scene alive and energized. They have to do something. 12. Too much Chit Chat Every story needs enough dialogue, too much of it is just dead. The characters need to move and the camera needs to focus on other surroundings. 13. Clichés Having very common scenes used such as starting the film with someone waking up in bed. If you use them they have to have a spin on them. A cliché can be used for humor but has to be structured vey well. 14. Weak Starts Having a weak start doesn't capture the attention of a viewer. And starts the movie with a bad vibe. 15. Generic Music The music doesn't fit the scene. If the scene is different to the music it makes it look childish and unnecessary and perhaps carry across a different point than what intended.
